Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Forgot to write this morning. But I had a chance to catch up with my bro, and that always rocks!

Here's what Em and I did together:
We were in the bike market so we rode a bus up to my school where I knew of a couple bike shops. Looked around but didn't find anything that really looked like what we wanted. Hopped another bus for an hour to exchange the charger for our scooter (which, by the way, we bought last Sunday; more on that another time). Then bused again to my old school, Wuhan University, to look at more bikes (we are hoping that it will help me work on this little 'jelly roll' that has formed at about my belly-button, and stretches all the way around to the back....).

We found what we were looking for and purchased a couple of nice little two-wheelers. We rode them home and met our friends, Louis and Wendy, for dinner. They're a fun Malaysian-Chinese couple, about 5-10 years older than us who have 'taken us under their wings'. We went out to this Buddhist restaurant to eat a different kind of vegetarian than you're probably thinking of. Here they use doufu (toufu) to make just about everything you'd see on a regular Chinese menu, replacing the meats with doufu made to look like whatever particular meat it's supposed to be. Kinda fun. It was a great night. We learned a lot of new things, had time to practice our Chinese, and enjoy good fellowship. Wendy is also going to tutor us on Monday nights from now on! Hopefully it'll make a difference!

That's been our Sunday. Peace out.
