What is it?

What is it about our culture that elevates guns, suits and sex? In reading the news, a brief video add for a new movie, The American, starring George Clooney, popped up. From the ad (supposing it gives the most important things you need to know about the movie to draw you in) it seems like just another replay of the same old story, different actor. Sure, throw in a few twists and unexpected surprises. But it's still guns, suits and sex. Is that the definition of "american"? By and large I would say that's what the rest of the world thinks.

Guns because we love violence.
Suits to represent our relentless pursuit of more money.
Sex just because we like sex.
That's American.
